My dear Miss Richmond:-

On my return home this morning I found your recent note and would say, in reply, that I quite understand and appreciate your explanation of the matter.

What an interesting time you must have had in taking the rubbings from the ancient tablets and monuments. I have pleasant recollections of similar work which I saw in progress some years ago in the ancient temples of Central India. The effects obtained were very interesting, indeed.

With cordial greetings and apologies for this type-written letter, which is occasioned by the pressure of many matters, I remain,

Very sincerely yours,
Charles L Freer
