before, but I think it was an erroneous statement on the part of the Blue Stone Company, and from the fact that they were silent as to the date in their telegram sent to me on the 25th inst., and that no word has come from them today, I feel that shipment was not made at the time they gave the information to Mr. Warrington, and perhaps not yet. The manner in which they have handled your order is a shame. 

Today the stone-setters will finish all of their work, except the setting of the chimneys, and will therefore, be obliged to take their men from the job. The roof tiles are also badly delayed. A few days ago I conferred with Holmes & Company of this city, the representatives of the Akron Tile Company, as to what progress had been made with the tiles, and when we could look for the delivery of them. The enclosed copy of letter written by the Akron Tile Company to Holmes & Company under date of August 26th, will show you how indefinite is the time when the tiles may be delivered.

You will remember my writing you that when Mr. Warrington was here on July 6th he visited the Akron works and shortly thereafter received sample of tile which he felt would prove satisfactory and they, I presume, have since been working upon it. 

George wrote you on August 7th and again on August 10th, which letters you no doubt received before sailing. The twenty-six etchings from the Paris Exposition and the one etching "Turkeys", shipped by Colnaghi, have been received in good order.
