Gentlemen:-
On my return home from an absence of several days I found your letter of November 23rd and have read with interest what you wrote concerning the pieces you now have for sale, and the earlier piece of Drius Pottery which you wrote me about but which was not shipped. It is better always to send me photographs or drawings of the pieces you have rather than to ship them without consulting me. Doubtless, many pieces reach you which I would not care to purchase and if you sent them you would be incurring unnecessary expense to say nothing of the risk of breakage, &c. So I trust you will never make any shipment to me without observing these necessary preliminary particulars.

Now, as to the shipment of the pieces you have, I would be glad to see for examination here, on approval, the turquoise jar of the Period of Drius, also, the piece No. 1, mentioned in your letter of November 23rd; that is, the octagonal turquoise pottery Cup, of which you sent me the photograph and the sketch.
