Four-hundred Dollars, ($400.00), and of the octagonal Cup, Twenty-hundred Dollars, ($2000.00), but you failed to mention whether those prices are net to you or whether from these prices I am to deduct, in the case of purchase, the freight and Customs House duty on the goods. Should you ship these two pieces to me on approval please write me fully who is to pay the duty and freight. Also, ship them by American Express, in bond to Detroit, along with consular invoice.

Miss Nordlinger has written me of your having sent her recently some charming fragments of pottery. Let me thank you for this additional favor shown to her.

I return herewith the photograph of the octagonal pitcher with handle which does not particularly appeal to me because my collection already includes a number of specimens similar to it.

Wishing you the compliments of the season, I remain,

Sincerely yours,
Charles L Freer
