Messrs. Proctor & Co.,
144 Fifth Ave.,
New York City.

Gentlemen:-
I regret that absence from the city has prevented earlier examination of the package of rugs which you so kindly sent me on approval. Only today have I had a chance to look them over, and I find only one of the lot can be used to advantage. This one I have kept. The size is 7 x 14-1/2, and the ticket price is $375.00. The other five rugs will be shipped to you by American Express promptly. If you will be good enough to send me a bill for the rug retained I will promptly remit.

With thanks for your courtesy, believe me,
Sincerely yours,
Charles L Freer
