My dear Sir:-
Your letter of December 8th, sent from San Francisco, is received - glad to hear from you. Hope your journey to Japan will be safe and enjoyable.

I note what you say regarding future purchases and I again repeat that it will be altogether useless for you to ship anything but of the very best quality to me in the future. Furthermore, before making any shipments hereafter please write to me in advance telling me of the nature of things you desire to send. The point is, too many people in Japan and elsewhere are sending inferior things here for my inspection and I must put a stop to the large quantities being sent here. This you will understand, I am sure.

With kind regards,
Very sincerely yours,
Charles L Freer
