My dear Sir:--
During the last month I have seen very little of Detroit, and on my return home this morning I found your letter of December 8th telling me of the shipment of the two pieces of pottery.
As soon as they arrive I shall examine them and will cable you promptly, whether I want them or not. In case I do not want them, I will forward them to your brother in New York, as requested.
My absence has, also, prevented earlier attention to the items named in your letter of November 14th. The voucher sent to your brother, in payment of piece No. 3 and the Bottle, included $250.00, just the amount named in your list, but your later letter explains that the price on the Bottle should have been $575.00, leaving a balance of $325.00 due you on this piece.
I have, also, decided to keep the small turquoise Jar with the two handles, (your No. 6) at $225.00, as per price
