My dear Laferme:--
Your letter of the 12th instant, containing your Christmas Greeting, came this morning and I thank you for the kind remembrance. Let me wish you in return the pleasantest of holidays and all the joys of the season.

While you were in the United States with the Duke of Sutherland I was enjoying a few months in London and Paris. I made inquiry for you and was told that you were in America. The Mr. McMillan, whom you met in Egypt, I know very well. He certainly is a mighty good shot, regardless of the kind of game he aims at. You should see his collection of trophies of his various shooting expeditions now kept in his house in Hill Street, London.

Again thanking you for your remembrance, I remain,
Very sincerely yours,
Charles L Freer
