Your fave or of the 27th instant is received and noted. [[illegible]] glad to know that you will have the glass for the diffusing [[illegible]] to the extent possible.

It happens that the notice you read in the New York [[illegible]] concerning my collections, is true — an unusual instance, [[illegible]] confess. I enclose herewith a newspaper clipping which [[illegible]] particulars. By reading the conditions of my offer to [[illegible]] discernment you will see that the collections are to remain in [[illegible]] succession up to the time of my death.
