The 2nd day of November A.D. 1867 that the said W. L. Derden, and his Brother, one S. M. Derden, did pursue him two miles to his place of Residence, where the said Derdens came up with him just as he entered his premises, and then said W. L. Derden, pursued him to his lot, where he was about to put up his Horse, and captured his Horse from him, and took the Horse out side of his Enclosures, & took the Bridle off, and turned his Horse loose in the woods; being armed with a Six Shooter (from appearance) and the said S. M. Derden pressing close at his side with a large Dagger or Bowie Knife in his Bossom and the said W. L. Derden, meeting them at his Gate, Stoped him, and after much abuse and Serious Threats compelled him; (to save his life;) to clime his yard Fencing, and leave his family: as he verily believes the two Derdens [[strikethrough]] of ha [[/strikethrough]] would [[strikethrough]] of [[/strikethrough]] have taken his life if he had not of complied with every demand that was made; he being unarmed and an old feeble man, of about Sixty years of age. (60.) The two Derdens armed one with a Six Shooter
