State of Texas } County of Williamson} Cosar Allen Freedman Says That on Saturday night September [[blank space]] 1868 at about 8 o'clock p.m. I was at Mrs. Julia O'Connors house Mr. Horn Bass came there he asked where Miss Julia O'Connor was. I told him I did not know. He then said he wanted me to go with him that evening He told me to go to the grocery and get a drink and then go and hunt her and come and tell him where she was. He went with me to the grocery and gave me some liquor. I was so drunk that when he sent me to hunt Miss Julia O'Connor I stopped at the corner, he followed me and took me by the arm and led me to the gate of Joe Armstrongs house, where Miss Julia was. I went into Joe's house to get Horn Bass a drink of water when I returned into the house Horn Bass went with me. Miss Julia was in an inner room - when I went into the house first Emily Armstrong asked [[strikethrough]] you [[/strikethrough]] me who was outside and I told her there was a man out there wished to see Miss Julia. When I went in again with Bass Miss Julia came with a lamp to the inner door and asked Bass what he wanted. He did not answer her [[strikethrough]] but [[/strikethrough]] she turned round and went away. I left Bass standing inside the yard. I was so drunk that I do not remember much of what was done.
