Next time I believe I could see more persons to whom I was introduced from my father and from Mr. Masuda. While I was in New York at the beginning of September Dr. Silen came in unexpectedly from Japan on his way home. I saw him at his hotel and spoke with him for few hours though he was extremely busy as he had not much time before his sailing home. The metropolitan museum is so interresting place to study and has many things worth studying. It is really a great expectation to visit there again this winter.
The terrible epidemics here is now quite decreased but the paper says that it is spreading to all over the continent, even to Japan. It is too bad, but the glorious

Cambridge as he is on his way to Italy with some commision of the government. Notwithstanding I am enjoying my study in Harverd.
Harverd has wonderful collection of photographs of the monuments and the paintings which is a great help of the study. The lecture of the anscient art by Dr. Chase is very attractive and it is really the most splendid lecture I ever heard.
This summer I stayed some days in New York where I saw Mr. Reitz who were so kind of me to help my study of the Metropolitan museum. I regret that I could not stay there long and at the same time it was not proper time to see the people. But I expect to be there again on this Christmas vacation.
