No other Shumman has such perfect execution and balancing of the group. It's much like his greatest print of 1785, the high water year of Ukiyo-ye, Kiyonaga's strongest year. Compare for purity of face and hair drawing with any Ukiyo-ye you have. Shumman's the typical master of gray in Ukiyo-ye. Compare with Son. The mounting, too, is the most individually beautiful of pure Japanese taste in Ukiyo-ye, most unusual, indeed unique.
