Section and, in addition, a First Stewardess shall give work guidance to a Stewardess or Stewardesses on planes where more than one Stewardess is assigned. First Stewardesses shall be assigned only to planes having more than one Stewardess. 

B. Stewardess.

The work of a Stewardess shall consist of performing or assisting in the performance of all enroute cabin service or ground service to delayed or cancelled passengers in a resourceful and gracious manner, and shall include responsibility to apply these services for the welfare, comfort, enjoyment and safety of passengers. Stewardesses may, from time to time, be required to participate in publicity and promotional assignments.

C. The term "employee" as used in this Agreement means Stewardess.

SECTION 3
HOURS OF SERVICE

A. A Stewardess shall not normally be scheduled to fly in excess of eighty-five (85) hours in any calendar month and not more than two hundred fifty-five (255) hours in any block of three (3) consecutive calendar months.

B. The beginning date of the first three (3) consecutive calendar months for all Stewardesses in the employ of the Company and assigned to flight duty on or prior to January 1, 1946, shall be January 1, 1946. Thereafter the block of three (3) consecutive calendar months shall be measured on a quarterly basis commencing with January 1, April 1, July 1 and October 1 of each calendar year. The beginning date of the block of three (3) consecutive calendar months for any Stewardess assigned to flight duty after January 1, 1946, shall be the first day of the next quarterly period following the date of her assignment.

C. When a Stewardess is required to fly more than eighty-five (85) hours in any month of the block of three (3) consecutive calendar months the Company shall attempt to so schedule her in the remaining months of the block of three (3) consecutive calendar months so that the total flying hours for the block

of three (3) consecutive calendar months shall total two hundred fifty-five (255) hours for said period. If the Company finds it impossible to so schedule a Stewardess in the remaining months of a block of three (3) consecutive calendar months so as to reduce flying time to total two hundred fifty-five (255) hours for said period, the Stewardess shall, in addition to the monthly salary provided for in this Agreement, receive compensation computed at the rate of one eighty-fifth (1/85th) of the applicable monthly salary at the termination of the block of three (3) consecutive calendar months for each hour flown over and above two hundred fifty-five (255) hours; provided, however, that a Stewardess shall not be required to fly in excess of ninety-five (95) hours in any calendar month and provided further that when a Stewardess is assigned to flight duty after the sixteenth (16th) of any calendar month, the flight time of such Stewardess shall not exceed forty-five (45) hours for the balance of the month or assignment. A Stewardess assigned to flight duty after the commencement of the quarterly period provided for in Paragraph A of this Section shall normally be scheduled for eight-five (85) hours flight per month until the commencement of the next quarterly period and in the event her flight time exceeds eighty-five (85) hours in any of said months she shall receive compensation computed at the rate of one eighty-fifth (1/85th) of the applicable monthly salary for each hour flown in excess of eighty-five (85) hours in any month but in no event shall she be required to fly in excess of ninety-five (95) hours in any month.

D. The flight time limitations provided for in this Agreement shall include all flight time on regularly scheduled flights, extra sections, charter trips, scenic or other flights where the Stewardess performs regular Stewardess duties.

E. Actual block-to-block time shall be used in computing all flight time.

F. Stewardesses may be required to remain with passengers when flights are held at intermediate stations, layover terminals, or domicile points. Such holding time shall not be considered in determining a Stewardess's flight time. Stewardesses shall be compensated for such holding time at the rate of $1.30
