SECTION 5 UNIFORMS AND ACCESSORIES

A. Stewardesses shall wear standard winter and summer uniforms as prescribed in Company regulations at all times while on duty and such other times as may be prescribed.

B. One-half (1/2) of the average total cost of the complete initial summer and winter uniform and accessories as hereinafter set forth shall be paid by the Company. The balance of the cost of such initial uniforms and accessories shall be paid by the Stewardesses either on a cash basis or on an authorized payroll deduction basis.

C. The Company will furnish Company insignia required to be worn by the Stewardesses at no cost to the Stewardesses.

D. Replacement of uniforms and accessories, or any part thereof, shall be made as necessary and shall be paid by the Stewardess either on a cash basis or on an authorized payroll deduction basis.

E. Change in color or design in any part of the uniform or accessories will be considered replacement as provided in Paragraph D above. Reimbursement on obsolete equipment caused by change in color or design will be on a pro-rated basis in accordance with Company regulations.

F. The Company will provide for the cleaning of jackets and skirts of both summer and winter uniforms without expense to the Stewardess.

G. The recommendations of the Association will be considered by the Company before making any change in the style, color, or material of uniforms and in the selection of tailoring establishments.

SECTION 6 SENIORITY

A. General.

1. Stewardess seniority shall accrue from the date of assignment to the line as a Stewardess with the Company, or with other companies whose operations have been taken over by the Company prior to the signing of this Agreement. Seniority shall not be lost except as provided in this Agreement.

2. Seniority shall govern all Stewardesses in connection with their retention in case of furlough due to reduction in force, re-employment after furlough, preference in assignment of domicile as vacancies occur, and preference of assignment to equipment provided that the Stewardess is deemed sufficiently qualified by the Company for the conduct of the operation involved. In the event a senior Stewardess is not considered sufficiently qualified by the Company, the Company shall furnish to the Stewardess upon application, written reasons therefore.

B. Period of Probation

Stewardesses shall be considered as probationary employees for six (6) months from date of assignment to the line as a Stewardess; however, no employee will be assigned to the line as a Stewardess with a prior probationary recommendation. At the end of the first three (3) months of said probationary period, the Stewardess shall be given a written report concerning her progress. During the following three (3) months of the Stewardess's probationary period, the Company, in taking any action regarding a Stewardess on probation, shall consider any written recommendation which has been filed by the Association. Stewardesses' names shall be placed on the Stewardess System Seniority List in order of the date of their assignment to the line as a Stewardess; provided, however, that the seniority provisions of this Agreement do not apply to a Stewardess unless retained in the service of the Company after the probationary
