air transportation on the Company's system for such Stewardesses to the extent permitted by law.

J. Stewardesses, when transferred from one station to another at Company request, will be allowed to air transportation (when air transportation is not available, rail transportation may be substituted) and actual necessary moving expenses for household effects, substantiated by properly receipted bills for shipping, insurance, packing and unpacking, indicating the number of cubic feet or weight of household effects being handled. When such transfers are made, the Company will allow actual necessary expenses for transportation, hotel accommodations and meals enroute for the Stewardess. When automobile transportation is used, the Company shall pay mileage travel allowance of two and one-half cents (2 1/2c) per mile for the most direct AAA mileage from point of origination to point of destination and no other automobile expenses will be allowed. All such expenses will be claimed on Form UA 26 and except for meals and automobile allowance, will be supported by receipts and must be submitted within (5) days after incurring the expense or within (5) days after the Stewardess receives the billing from the moving concern. 

SECTION 9

LEAVES OF ABSENCE

A. When the requirements of the service permit, a Stewardess will, upon proper application to the Company, be granted a leave of absence for any reason deemed adequate by the Company for a period not in excess of ninety (90) days. Such period may be extended for additional periods not to exceed ninety (90) days each. Requests for leaves of absence or extensions thereof, and approvals by the Company shall be in writing. A Stewardess granted a leave of absence shall retain and continue to accrue seniority during the first ninety (90) days of such leave of absence. For leaves of absence in excess of ninety (90) days a Stewardess shall retain but shall not accrue seniority after ninety (90) days except where the leave of absence has been granted because of health, injury, or special assignment by the Company, in which case seniority shall accrue during the entire period of the leave of absence

except that in no case shall leave for sickness or injury exceed a total continuous period of three (3) years. 

B. Upon returning from an authorized leave of absence or extension thereof, a Stewardess will be permitted to return in the same status at the same domicile to which she was assigned prior to the beginning of her leave. 

C. Stewardesses who engage in gainful employment for someone other than Company shall be deemed to have resigned from the Company's services and her name will be stricken from the Stewardess System Seniority List.

SECTION 10

VACATIONS

A. Newly employed Stewardesses will accrue one (1) day of vacation for each full month of continuous employment with the Company during the remainder of the calendar year after date of their initial employment. The first vacation will be given during the following calendar year. 

B. After the provisions of Paragraph A of the Section have been complied with, all Stewardesses shall receive one-half (1/2) month's vacation for each full calendar year of continuous employment with the Company beginning with January 1st of any such year; provided that any Stewardess taking a leave or leaves of absence in excess of thirty (3) days except in case of sickness or injury on the job, shall have her vacation and vacation pay reduced by one (1) day for each month or part thereof that she is on leave or leaves of absence in excess of thirty (30) days. 

C. The Company shall post on its bulletin boards at all stations where Stewardesses are based, the dates designated by the Company for annual vacation period. The Stewardess shall state her preference as to the date her vacation is to begin, based upon her Company seniority, and vacations will be assigned and a schedule posted. Such preferences shall be in the hands of the Company fifteen (15) days prior to the beginning of the Company's annual vacation period.
