Dear Mr. Hecker:

We arrived here last evening and I was pleased to receive your T/D giving condition of affairs at home.

We started from Kingston with team and buckboard last Tuesday evening and have kept pretty actively at work in driving, walking and mountain climbing. First we visited Geo. Mead's then to the Overlook and back, and then on Twin Mountain, then over the Overlook, down the Platterkill Clove to West Saugerties, then to Palenville and up the Cauterskill Clove to Twilight Park - then to Tannersville, East Jewett, and Big Hollow to East Windham (far north in the mountains and a beautiful spot) then to Windham, Ashland, Red Falls, Prattsville, Moresville to this place. Today we go to Delhi. Then to Andes, Margarettville, Pine Hill and to Dutchers via Big Indian. We propose to stay some days with Dutcher - and our address will be

The weather has been simply wonderful. No rain! but one day for two hours we lived amidst the clouds, and the next day for four hours we walked and drove above a perfect sea of clouds. As to color! we have heretofore seen nothing to equal it. The effects of spring and summer are blended with the autumnal tints and produce the perfection of tones. Later of course, we will see
