I want very much to tell you in detail about at least one garden, but I fear I will be too stingy of my time until the last one has been visited- or, perhaps a break may come in these sunny days and rain may keep me within doors. At least, I feel sure in promising you a long letter about gardens when I am next on board ship-

While at Bologna I found and purchased another piece of Terra Cotta for my garden. It is very old and shows the date on face, so there will be no duty, but charges for freight brokerage &c from Bologna are at my expense. Will you kindly attend to this for me. Invoice and B/L are enclosed. If anything goes wrong please correspond with Giovanni Biamothi, Genoa, who are the forwarding agents for the fellow whose name appears across the stamp on invoice- a little anitquarian at Bologna none too responsible I am sure - I am hoping to find some Terra Cotta glazed jars- but they are extremely scarse. If I succeed they too will follow- after which I will not trouble you again for some time with these matters. You are all very well at home, I trust, To each and all most cordial greetings.

Faithfully
Freer.
