July 19th 1900....2.

month from now the tide of visitors to Capri will be in full flow.

Fortunately for Tom, he can come and go entirely free of the tourists and they can in no way intrude or interfere with his comfort and privacy.

Tom seems entirely content and happy - and there are many reasons why he should be. His home is really ideal, his friends here appreciate his many good qualities, and help to make life interesting. He leads his own life as he cares without interference or comment - and whenever he gets ready to undertake the work he contemplates, he can proceed under the most favorable conditions.

His health is excellent and I never saw him in finer spirits.
Coleman is kindness itself, and guide, and counsellor and friend in many ways.

Another artist resident here, Alberto White, is a good fellow and a third chap named Trower is another neighbor of the right sort. All three live so to speak, next door to Tom and Freddie Mann's house is so close that whenever he is here he and Tom can shake hands without ever leaving their own property.

About Oct.1st I shall start Northward spending a day or two at Florence, then to Paris for a few hours and from there to London.

My stay in London will depend upon circumstances, but I expect to arrive in New York before Oct 25th.

Tom joins me in kindest regards to yourself and family and with all kinds of good wishes as well

Faithfully

Freer.

Long hand.
