Mr dear Colonel:-,

We landed at Liverpool on Saturday last at 11 o'clock A.M. and I found Mr Chapman on the dock awaiting me. He insisted on putting me up with his intimate friend and business partner Mr Shield, whose house is in the center of Liverpools residential quarter, I reluctantly accepted, but in the end was delighted! He (Mr Shield) is a splendid specimen
