His temperament and character are wonderful and the little known thereof by the world and discussed through the press is a fabric of complete ignorance or misunderstanding.

A gentler, nobler, purer soul never entered heaven if such a place exists.

His art and his life are one! Every touch or stroke found in his work is reflected in his mind and heart, and what's more, in his gestures when asleep or when from over-weakness his mind wanders.

His stinging satire as found in his writings or uttered under the whip were puffs of a wit rich in a marvelous degree with the finer and higher elements but which because of its greatness lacked not the power of self defense when fighting barbarians.

My future movements are of course, to be governed by the turn of affairs here. As I am now feeling I don't care much into what channel they may be steered.

With every good wish to yourself and family, I am as always

Sincerely yours
Charles L. Freer
