I have been without the company of either Jerome or Coleman since the morning of my landing in Naples, nearly two months ago, and I miss them very much.

The trip to Spain too, has come and gone, and with it certain ideals have vanished and certain others shall be with me always. I am glad to have had the experience.

Paris changes little; the rush and roar of the expedition of 1900 is gone and about all that remains of it in tangible form, is the lovely bridges and the two art galleries. Higher and more results, I must and hope, are scattered throughout the universe.

The streets however, seem to be nearly as crowded as in 1900 - Americans everywhere. I am to dine with Jeanne and her husband tonight, and already several other pleasing invitations have reached me for luncheons. Dinners and private collections for the balance of the week so I am scarcely ready to determine the time of my departure from London.
