how silly the wild strife of the foolishly ambitious many.

Of course, I sympathize with human suffering, and particularly with that of my poor sister Frank and Mr. Whistler but to either human help can bring but little, if any relief.

I am glad that for both wordly ambition has availed not. They both have other ideals -- far apart to be sure -- both however, personal and intense. From their own ideals must they now both draw their greatest comfort. And it is a great comfort to me to feel that they both are as they are. So, I go on not always heavy hearted - but, as they both would have me, looking for the beautiful, the true.

I am awaiting a cablegram from Watson and after its receipt will determine my future movements. If he thinks it wise to call me, I shall go quickly to Kingston. If not, then I expect to sail homeward on the "Kaiser Wilhelm der Grosse" on July 22nd.

With all good wishes to you and yours,

Faithfully
Charles L. Freer
