Your letter written on the train reached me this morning. It is a pleasure to hear from both yourself and Mr. Togawa. I hope that your visit in Chicago proved agreeable and profitable. 

In answer to your inquiry, the name of the German gentlemen who formerly resided in London is Alfred Beit, one of the greatest of millionaires, but he died last year. Mr. Brinckmann, of the Hamburg Museum, to whom I shall give you later a letter of introduction, was a great friend of Mr. Beit's.

Along with your letter I am sending you a letter of introduction to Mr. Gus Mayer, of the firm of Obach & Company, who have delightful galleries in Bond Street, London. Mr. Mayer is a friend of mine and I have taken the liberty of suggesting that possibly you
