No. 915 Union Trust Building,
Detroit, Michigan,
October 27th.,1906.

Mr. George H. Russel,
President State Savings Bank, Detroit, Mich.

My dear Mr. Russel:-

Having completed plans to leave American about the fifteenth of the following month to be absent until next Spring or Summer, and as during my absence the Annual Meeting of the State Bank will be held, I deem it my duty to call your attention now to a statement made by me at the informal meeting of the Directors held at your residence last Winter, wherein you may remember I stated my reasons for wishing to retire from the Directorate. Later, with my consent, your stock-holders kindly re-elected me a Director to serve for another year. As absence will prevent my attendance at the meetings to be held during the remainder of the year, I beg to now tender my resignation as a Director to take effect immediately or at the close of the fiscal year, as you may find most convenient.
