The article by Theo. Child is entitled "American Artists at the Paris Exposition" and appeared in Harper's Magazine for September, 1889.

Kenyon Cox has published two articles; one appeared in the Architectural Record during the early part of the year nineteen hundred four. The other article appeared in "The Nation" for March, nineteen hundred and four.

Joseph Pennell, the American artist, had an article in the North American Review for September nineteen hundred three.

The English writer I mentioned is Frederick Wedmore, who recently published a book entitled "Whistler and Others". Another writer, who, in my opinion, is quite superior to Wedmore is Camille Mauclair, a Frenchman, who published a very interesting book in French last year entitled "From Watteau to Whistler". Mauclair views Whistler's work with intelligence and artistic appreciation. Of the other writers above mentioned, it is unnecessary for me to say anything. I quite prefer you to judge for yourself.
