The site for the memorial is charming, being a gently rounded hill fifty or more feet above the foreground, overlooking the large reservoir and backed by fine trees. The crowning space of the site provides ample room for gardening, which I believe is the intention of the Commissioner of Parks, and classical outdoor benches of proper proportions would add charm to the general effect.

I would be greatly pleased if yourself and Colonel Hecker, to whom I have handed a copy of this letter, would let me know what you think of the scheme, adding any suggestions you may feel like making.

Yours very sincerely,
Charles L. Freer
