Dear Miss Vernon:--

Your letter of September 21st is here bringing news of your illness. I am very sorry that you should have suffered so severely and trust that your recovery will be rapid and complete.

You must not worry about the loan I made to you. It is a small matter and can stand until you find it entirely convenient to pay it yourself. You are very good to suggest that I deduct it from your sister's estate, but I prefer to let it run just as it is. Don't give any further [[strike through]] present [[/strikethrough]] attention to this matter but get well again and free your mind from worry.

Believe me,

Yours very sincerely,
Charles L. Freer
