Dear Sir:-

In the absence of Mr Charles L. Freer, I beg to acknowledge the receipt of your letter written on the 14th inst., addressed to him.

Mr. Freer sailed for the Orient on November 15th last, and is now in Cairo, Egypt, thence going to Ceylon during the early part of January.

I am writing to Mr. Freer to-day, and shall take pleasure in enclosing your letter therein.
