Dear Mr. Yamamoto:-
I take pleasure in advising you that the case containing the twelve pieces of pottery was delievered to the American Express Company to-day, for shipment to you.

The inspection of the things was somewhat delayed owing to the Holiday rush in the Customs House, and I regret to say that a brown bowl is very badly broken. The Customs inspector informed me that it was found broken when the case was opened, and in his opinion, the breakage, (if done in transit) was caused by the articles being too tightly packed within the case.

I paid duty amounting to $48.00, and entry $2.70, a total of $50.70, as shown by the receipted invoice of W. H. Allison, Customs House Broker, enclosed herewith. This amount, you may remit to me. The express charges on the case to New
