Dear Sir:-
I beg to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 14th instant addressed to Mr. Charles L. Freer and regret that owing to Mr. Freer's absence from the city, he is unable to reply to you promptly.

Mr. Freer is absent on a trip to the Orient and will not return home for several months.

I shall be writing him at Ceylon in a day or two and will enclose your letter therewith.

I would say however that Mr. Freer's collection does not include any subjects by the artists named in your letter and doubt if he would consider the purchase of the two you refer to.

Very truly yours,
JM Kennedy
