Dear Sir:-
Replying to your letter of the 26th inst., relative to dimensions of the openings of windows and door, Mr. Freer's residence.

The heights shown on the drawings sent you are from the head of the stone openings to the upper flat part of the sill of the windows; and from the head of the stone opening to the low point of the splayed part of the sill of the door, because the Blue Room door comes over the splayed part of the sill. The pencil drawings herewith, will show you how it is. The drawings which I am sending you, are not made to scale, but simply for the purpose of showing from what points of the sills the measurements were taken.

The face of the wall and the window and door openings, are of the rough faced stone, there having been no dressing of the stone within the openings. The measurements which are shown in the drawings earlier sent you, however, are between the chiseled corners of the stones forming the angles to the openings, and, I suppose, the rough surface of the stones within the openings, will have to be dressed to a smooth surface to accommodate the grille work.

I am glad to know the grilles have been ordered, and trust that you now have all the information you need.

If anything more is required, I shall be very happy to furnish it.

Very truly yours,
JM Kennedy
