Dear Sir:-
I beg to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of January 17th, addressed to Mr. Freer'at his residence.  Mr. Freer is traveling about in the Orient, and is now in Java.  He plans to go from Java to China and Japan, and I am forwarding your letter to him.  It will reach him at some point in either China or Japan, and you may hear from them shortly thereafter.

Under separate cover, the copy of "Japanese Prints" by Charles Hovey Pepper, has also been received.
