Dear Sir:-

In the absence of Mr. Charles L. Freer, your letter of the 13th instant, addressed to him, was opened by me [[obscured]]

Mr. Freer sailed from New York on November 15th, last, for a trip through the Orient, and does not expect to return home before late in June. I shall be writing to him, however, in a day or two, and will take pleasure in inclosing therein, your letter.

Very truly yours,
