Dear Sir:-

Your letter of the 13th instant, addressed to Mr. Charles L. Freer, was opened by me in Mr. Freer's absence. Mr. Freer is traveling about in the Orient and will not return home until June, next. His Japanese Collection is confined to pottery objects and paintings, and I do not think he would consider the purchase of the lamp, the photographs of which you enclosed with your letter.

I shall be writing him in a few days, and will take pleasure in enclosing your letter therein.

Very truly yours,
JM Kennedy
