150, inclusive,-which you wrote on February 5th, was received; other contained newspaper clippings, which you letter of February 5th said had not arrived. It is possible that the latter envelope was not postmarked until the 8th, and the P. O. stamp "8" looks like "6". The envelope post-marked January 9th, contained Colonel Hecker's letter to you of same date. Two envelopes were mailed on January 14th; one containing enclosures 151 to 172, inclusive, and the other containing enclosures 173 to 176, inclusive, and newspaper clippings. With this information, and the copies of letters herewith, I trust you may be able to repair at least in a measure, the damage done by the "birds".

A few days ago, a letter, and a package containing a photograph, for Miss. Birnie-Philip, addressed care of you, from Mr. Saint-Gauden, were received, with the inscription thereon to please forward. I acknowledged their receipt to Mr. Saint-Gaudens, and wrote Miss. Birnie-Philip, enclosing Mr. Saint-Gaudens' letter, and sent the package containing the photograph, to her by American Express, charges prepaid, advising her thereof, in my letter.

Your draft for £ 25 drawn on February 16th at Colombo, was presented this morning and paid. This makes a total of £ 2,675, paid. I collected the interest due March 15th on the Tug "Perry" bonds, and sent Mr. Dewing the amount thereof on his one bond.
