Dear Dr. Cook:

Answering your very good lines of October 7th let me say that your suggestion of dividing the scholarship between two students is perfectly agreeable to me.

Such a matter I realize I must leave in your hands, for you will be the sole judge of the human element involved, and whether it would or will be better to give all out help to one student, who could be particularly meritorious and whose financial support should be maintained for a longer period of time, or have the amount divided between two students and thus for a more limited time.

Whatever decision you reach may I ask you to be good enough to post me accordingly.

Mrs. Seligman and I attended Dr. Weinburger's course last Thursday, though
