Mr. Clyfford Trevor,
Jacques Seligmann and Company, Inc.,
3 East 51st Street,
New York City.

Dear Mr. Trevor:

I am very sorry to hear that the monotype pastel has been sold but I am delighted to have the promise of the "Portrait of Diego Martelli". In the event that it should be sold I would appreciate very much your sending me the name of the new owner who might be willing to lend. I find that most private collectors are willing to cooperate this way.

Unfortunately when I was in New York I was unable to see Mr. Winthrop but I hope to be able to go with you the week after next.

With best regards,

Very sincerely yours,

Henry P. McIlhenny
