New York City.

Dear Mr. Trevor:

As you already know, the Degas Exhibition is now well under way and I am writing to confirm the loan of your "Portrait of Diego Martelli" and the monotype touched up with pastel "Café Scene" formerly in the Viau collection.

The exhibition dates are November 7th to December 7th, 1936, inclusive, and of course all expenses will be taken care of by us.

This gives me an opportunity to repeat to you my deep appreciation and thanks for the very generous way in which your firm handled the whole matter. However, I feel sorry for those who did so much work.

Unfortunately I have been unable to get to New York this week but I am planning to be in town next week and if I am able I will call up Mr. Winthrop. If this is not possible I shall wait until you return so that we can go together.

With best regards,

Very sincerely yours,

Henry P. McIlhenny
