Canton has a larger [[?]] Chinese oily - in which ancient pottery can be hunted out and bought, in some cases, much cheaper than the modern copies in the foreign quarters of the same city.  The Japanese buyers have been traveling through Pekin and northern China but have apparently over-looked Canton and southern China, which suits me quite well. Two days later will find me in the old native town of Shanghai with great expectations.
Ofcourse steam northward the weather grows cold and by degrees summer clothes are rapidly being changed for those of winter.
