Dear Mr. Walcott:-

Your kind letter of December 4th came in this morning's mail, and I wish to say that it will give me great pleasure indeed to show you the art collections now in my care and the property of the Smithsonian Institution.

I expect to be in Detroit the greater part of the winter, and I hope you will find it possible to make me a visit of at least two or three days. I should like you to see not only the articles already transferred to the Smithsonian, but also the acquisitions made during the last year.

Sometime during January I expect to visit Washington for a day or two, and while there I shall be very happy to call upon you.

Believe me,

Very sincerely yours,
Charles L Freer

C. Walcott Esq. Secretary,
The Smithsonian Institution,
Washington, U.S.A.
