Miss Birnie-Philip. #2. 1/6/08.

that he would like to publish an authorized edition of the "Ten O'clock". I know that this proposition you will positively decline. It has occurred to me, however, that possibly you might be willing to permit him to make you a written proposition for printing and perhaps circulating in America the new edition of the "Ten O'clock" which you propose to publish ere long. What are your feelings on this subject, and do you approve of the terms of settlement which in your behalf I proposed to Mr. Seymour; - that is, are you willing to forgive him after his apologetic letter and transfer of books into my hands for destruction.

Kindly think the matter over and let me know what further steps you desire me to take.

Very sincerely yours,
Charles L. Freer
