Mr. Seymour. #2. 1/6/08.

The copyright of the "Ten O'clock" was obtained by Mr. Whistler in proper form during his life-time, and Miss Birnie-Philip intends to re-publish it in exact duplication of the original Brochure as issued under Mr. Whistler's personal direction.

The contract for printing this new edition has as yet not been made, but I have already received in behalf of Miss Birnie-Philip, a proposition from one of our leading American printers. Whether she would be willing to allow you to submit a bid for doing this work I cannot state definitely at present. I shall, however, write her concerning the matter and she will doubtless give proper consideration thereto.

Is your establishment equipped with proper hand presses, and can you obtain types and paper such as was used in the original edition?

Do not let this letter encourage you to really expect to be entrusted with this work. I simply agree to write Miss Birnie-Philip in response to your suggestion.

Believe me,

Yours very truly,
Charles L Freer
