Dear Mr. Mayer:-

I reached Detroit on Friday last, having enjoyed the crossing on the LUSITANIA very much.

To-day's mail brings your letter of October 11th, together with invoice for purchases made from your firm. In settlement of the latter, I have pleasure in handing you herewith, draft for £417-15-4-, which kindly accept together with my best thanks for the many courtesies received from the hands of yourself, your partner and employees.

You were all very kind in attending to the forwarding of my various purchases, and I want you to know that I appreciate your goodness.

Trusting you are keeping very well, I remain,

Very sincerely yours,
