DEAR MOLLIE-
Your good letter of January 28th was duly received, but the two books did not arrive until Saturday afternoon last, having been delayed in the mail. Yesterday I had an opportunity to examine both books, and I think that I found a considerable advance in your work. Were they both done by yourself or are they the work of your brother? I ask this question for my own satisfaction, and want to add that whichever of you did the work is entitled to the credit of having progressed rapidly in your work.

I need not tell you of my grief over the sad news of your sister's serious illness. I hope, however, that her recovery will be early and that the disease is not what you fear it to be.

I enclose with pleasure draft on New York for One Hundred and Twenty-five ($125.00) Dollars, in payment for the two books, and along with appreciation of your kindness in permitting me to aid you at his particular time.

With all good wishes,
Very sincerely yours,
Charles L. Freer

P. S. I know you will pardon a typewritten letter.
