358 [[checkmark]] 33 Ferry Avenue E., Detroit, Michigan, February 6th, 1908. MR. A. S. De pinna, c/o C. & E. Canessa, 479 Fifth Avenue, New York, N. Y. DEAR SIR: Your letter of the fourth is received, and I regret to say that I do not quite understand the kind of goods you refer to. Your letter reads " a few very fine pieces of Oriental China". Am I to understand it to be Chinese porcelain, Chinese pottery, or some other pottery or porcelain from the Far Orient? If it is of either of the above kinds, I do not wish to purchase it; if, on the other hand, it is pottery - ancient - of the Near Orient, that is, either Persian, Syrian or Babylonian, I should like to know more about it. Yours truly, Charles L Freer
