402 400 33 Ferry Avenue East, Detroit, Michigan, February 21st, 1908. DEAR MRS. SAINT-GAUDENS-- I returned from New York this morning and found your letter of the seventeenth instant awaiting my coming. In reply, I immediately wired you "Just returned home. Most gladly consent to exhibiting the sketches," which I now confirm. Of course, I am much pleased to consent to your having the sketches made for the Whistler Memorial sent to the forthcoming Exhibition. I trust you will always feel at full liberty to use these studies in whatever manner you may appear to you as fitting and proper. With kindest regards, I remain, Sincerely yours, Charles L. Freer MRS. AUGUSTUS SAINT_GAUDENS, Windsor, Vermont.
