DEAR ELLA-

I have just returned from a trip to the East, and have your letter of the twelfth instant. Of course, I regret the misfortune which attended your first banking experience, but as your money will eventually be paid to you I am rather glad it happened. Let it teach you to look more carefully into any institution into which you may in the future deposit your small means.

I hand you herewith draft for Three Hundred and Fifty ($350.00) Dollars, the amount required, and trust it will reach you in good time.

I hope also that your studies are progressing satisfactorily and that all goes well with you.

Yours affectionately
Charles L. Freer
