Dear Sir-

In accordance with the promise made in our recent correspondence, I am sending to your address by American Express, charges repaid, Whistler's original copper of his etching, entitled "totherhite"[[?]], W-60, which I hope will reach you in safety and prove of interest in your forthcoming Art Loan Exhibition.

I cross this plate, deeming it representative and understanding from your list that you intended to exhibit a proof of the copper. I hope you will not permit any handling of the copper except that necessary to put it in its case, to take it out again and to repack, for the reason that finger marks will appear on the copper. Of course, you can still show it under glass.

With every good wish for the success of your Exhibition, I remain,

Very truly yours,
Charles L Freer
