Detroit, Mich., 33 Ferry Avenue,
October 30, 1907.

Dear Mr. Coates:-

I had the pleasure of receiving a hasty visit from Messrs. Trask ad Lewis last week, and then for the first time received from Mr. Trask verbal notice of my election to honorary membership in the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, the letter sent me by Mr. Trask, advising me of this fact under date of May 28th, 1906, having been lost in the mail.

I have learned with much interest that my election to honorary membership in the Academy came through a suggestion made by you prior to your retirement from the presidency, and I wish to thank you for your goodness in the matter. The honor conferred is deeply appreciated and I hope to be able to show [[strikethrough]] by [[/strikethrough]] recognition in some tangible way in the future.

Trusting you are keeping very well, I am, with kind regards,

Very sincerely yours,
Charles L. Freer
